Ukrainians know how to deal with Trump's gross moral incapacity, and Russia's aggression
Responding to bullies, East and West
Tom Hoefling
Ukrainians are standing on the front line of the West's defense against the genocidal aggression of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
Donald Trump wants Ukrainians to pay him in minerals for helping Ukrainians defend the West.
But Ukrainians are already paying the highest price possible: They're paying to defend all of us with the blood of their own young people, and their own civilians, men, women, and children. They're paying with shattered cities and a battered energy system. They're paying in dislocation, exile, suffering, and grief.
Donald Trump insisting on taking ownership of Ukrainian resources as payment is grotesque.
Fortunately for them, Ukrainians have leaders who will not for a minute put up with Trump's gross moral incapacity, or Russia's continued aggression.
They know how to fight.
They know how one must respond to bullies if there is to ever be any chance for real peace, whether those bullies lie to the East, or to the West.
