What do Lavrov, and Putin, and Trump, and Musk, have in common, before anything else? They're all shameless liars. They lie constantly in pursuit of their own agendas. There is simply no truth in them. If you believe anything they say on its face, you're being dangerously foolish.
Secondly, they're all driven by greed for money and power. A couple of them are among the richest men in the world. And a strong case can be made that large sums of money have circulated among them over the years.
Who's on the top of this awful pile? Obviously, it's Putin. Lavrov is his lapdog, and sadly, so is Trump. And Musk, though it may look like he is the acting president, can't actually do anything without Trump. So, he's the puppet of Putin's puppet.
How can we fight these powerful, wicked men? We can do what patriotic Americans have always done: We can appeal to heaven. We can pray. After all, God is in control of everything ultimately. The wicked can only do what God allows them to do, for a season. So, have a talk with Him about it. Do it every day.
And we can speak out, as well. Our reach may be short, individually. But the voices of many can have a mighty effect on politics, and on events.
And perhaps we should be thinking hard about organizing for upcoming elections. No matter what discouragements we may have suffered in the past, all indications are that the Trump Republicans are going to be wiped out in a record way in the midterm elections next year.
Might as well figure out how there can be some genuine conservative choices - candidates who tell the truth, without fear or favor - in that mix, don't you think?
Look, it many be too late for the American republic. It would be really easy to think so right now. I understand that, as well as anybody. But, even if it is, and the end is near, don't we want to be found by the the Lord doing what is right when He returns?
