Even the good you think Trump is doing won't turn out well
Don't become part of the cheering masses
Tom Hoefling
In the nineteen thirties it might have been accurate for someone to praise Adolph Hitler for his handling of the German economy, and his building of the autobahns and the Volkswagen. The Fuehrer even had some great-sounding things to say about morality and the state of the family a couple of times. But, it wouldn't have been wise to go around praising all that and thereby politically empowering him - not in the full context of the many evils he was committing at the same time.
In the twenties and thirties it might have been accurate to praise Mussolini for making the trains run on time, while Il Duce was busy plotting how to take over the territory of other countries. But it wouldn't have been wise to have become one of the masses cheering his great successes.
Later, when the full truth came out, and history was written, the shame of having been a part of those crowds became apparent.
Look, I'm all for giving credit where credit is due, under normal circumstances, and when it comes to normal human beings. But Trump is a special case. Do not empower this evil man in any way. You will live to regret it if you do. Even the good you think he's doing won't turn out well.
